Business Not As Usual: Succeeding in SLED and Healthcare

Every IT solution provider knows that entering the public sector, education and healthcare markets is no easy task. It requires significant investment, expertise and patience. During the COVID-19 crisis, many solution providers and technology suppliers saw their business in those markets surge as workers were shifted to home offices and solutions were needed to address the pandemic. But, the future remains uncertain given the fiscal pressure the public sector is facing as tax revenues decrease amid high unemployment figures and cost-cutting measures. Tech spending in government, education and healthcare still makes up a large percentage of overall U.S. IT spending. Can public schools, government institutions and healthcare providers continue to support all the new IT initiatives ushered in by COVID-19, including security, remote worker management and cloud—just to mention a few? Solution providers need to decide whether this is a time to double down to gain market share or retreat. It won’t be business as usual ever again in these markets. Solution providers and tech suppliers will have to great creative and innovate like never before to succeed in this space.
